- 50% deposit reserves your date. The balance (plus flying costs) is due 14 days before the event.
- The deposit is non-refundable if you cancel. If we cancel, you get everything back.
1The engagement
- One engagement per booking, in the format chosen when you book. Topics: Constitutional Law and the history of U.S. Supreme Court decisions, focused as agreed with you.
- Talk length, schedule, format details and setup are agreed with you before the event.
- The talk is educational commentary. It is not legal advice, and no attorney-client relationship is formed with you or anyone in the audience.
2Price and travel
- Speaking fee: $5,000 (US dollars) for an in-person engagement; $2,500 for a virtual talk.
- Driving: $1 per mile for the round trip from Wolverine, Michigan to your venue and back, measured by road distance when you book.

- Virtual: no travel costs.

4If you cancel or change the date
| When you cancel | What happens |
|---|---|
| More than 14 days before the event | Deposit kept; nothing more owed |
| 14 days or less before the event | Full fee owed; no refund |
- Travel costs we haven't spent yet (for example, a refundable flight or hotel) are refunded.
- Changing the date: you can move your booking once, to a date we're available within 12 months, if you ask more than 14 days before the event. Your deposit carries over.
- To cancel or change, reply to your booking confirmation email with your booking number (it starts with G-).
5If we cancel
If we have to cancel for any reason on our side, such as illness or an emergency, you get a full refund of everything you've paid, or a new date if you prefer. If the event can't go ahead because of severe weather, a natural disaster or another event outside anyone's control, we'll find a new date within 12 months and your payments carry over.
6Venue and technical needs

- Virtual: you provide the video meeting platform and link, and a short technical check before the event.
7Recording and materials
- You may record the talk for your own internal or educational use with our written consent (email is fine). Selling, broadcasting or publishing a recording needs separate written permission.
